Billionaire Valery Tsimbaev is accused of organizing an attempted murder
Valery Tsimbaev, a well-known billionaire and a major owner of commercial real estate in Moscow, became involved in a criminal case related to attempted murder.
TASS reports this, citing data from law enforcement agencies.
“Valery Tsimbaev has been charged with attempting to organize the murder of a group of people by prior agreement. He will remain in custody until September 11 of this year,” the law enforcement agencies said.
As specified in the department, the order was to be executed by members of the criminal group and former employees of the SOBR “Lynx”. The charges relate to the events of 2003.
Alexander Revzin, ex-adviser to the Chairman of the Moscow Chamber of Control and Accounts, is considered to be the victim of the attempted assassination.
In January, the Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested Oleg Ramazanov, who is being held in the same case. The investigation believes that he was an intermediary and the mastermind of the murders committed by an organized criminal group, including ex-employees of the SOBR “Lynx”.
According to the prosecution, in May 2023, on his order, an attempt was made on Revzin’s life in Tokmakov Lane in Moscow, who received three gunshot wounds, but survived.
In total, that year, according to Vedomosti, Ramazanov organized at least four particularly serious crimes for a fee. The investigation believes that several million rubles were paid for each of them. It was noted that some of the crimes were related to the struggle for trading platforms, including the Moscow department store.
According to the investigation, members of a gang of special forces, which included the former chief of staff of the SOBR, Alexei Alpatov, employees of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (now Rosgvardiya) and other law enforcement agencies, were involved in the commission of crimes as perpetrators. They are charged with over 30 serious crimes, including contract killings, several attempted murders and kidnappings. The group’s criminal activities continued for more than 20 years in Moscow, the Moscow region, the Kaluga Region, the Krasnoyarsk Territory and other regions of Russia. Alpatov was arrested in December 2023.
